The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has described as irresponsible comments by the Education Minister, Dr Matthew Opoku-Prempeh that some parents and Junior High School graduates were bused by the NDC to cause confusion at the Black Star Square.
According to the National Youth Organiser of the NDC, George Opare, the Minister sounded too pedestrian and failed to address the real challenge bedeviling the placement system.

“Why will the NDC want to take political advantage of issues such as education? NAPO sounded very irresponsible and pedestrian and so I will not honour him with a response. He should learn to address challenges by eschewing politics, else we will be where we are,” he said Adom TV’s ‘Badwam‘ morning show, Wednesday.

According to the Minister, some people wanted to mar the efforts of the Ministry, therefore bribed some people to feign exhaustion and collapse.
He added that some people were at the centre though they did not have issues or hadn’t even followed the procedure for placement.
But, Mr Opare said supporters of the party did not go to the Black Star Square which was the placement solution centre over political interest but to interact with the people to know the progress of the system.

“I led a party team to the Black Star Square on Tuesday on purely humanitarian basis with regards to the visuals we saw in the media and not to take political advantage so he should not attribute their difficulties to us,” he said.
Dr Opoku-Prempeh, he noted, is not fit to be a Minister because he has failed.
“NAPO is not fit to be a minister. He is a disgrace to his party and his ministry. There is an issue which saw thousands of people worrying and all you could say is to blame us for causing confusion. His comments are not worthy of a minister,” he said.
