Information reaching Adomonline.com indicates that a police officer with the Motor, Transport and Traffic Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service, Inspector Foster Ampomah has been knocked down by a speeding cargo track.

According to reports, the track with registration number GE-7562-12 run into him on the Kintampo-Jema highway in the Ahafo region Friday morning.
The Kintampo Divisional Police Commander, ACP Joseph Antwi Gyau confirmed this to Adom News.

He said the officer had finished checking the particulars of the vehicle but the driver lost control while moving and run into him.
ACP Gyau said the MTTD officer was pronounced dead on arrival so the body has been sent to the Kintampo Government Hospital morgue pending investigations.

Meanwhile, the driver, Awudu Sumaila, 30 is in police custody assisting in investigations.
