Former Musicians Union of Ghana [MUSIGA] President, Bice Osei Kuffour, popularly known as Obour, has rubbished reports that he will be contesting for the Asante-Akyem South New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primary.
“I have not said that I want to contest in the NPP primaries in 2020. I am not contesting and so Ghanaians should disregard the news,” he told Nhyira FM.
According to him, the recent clean-up exercise he organised at Asante-Akyem South constituency where he donated dustbins, wheelbarrow, washing powder and long brooms to the assembly was not for political gains but a programme his mother started some years back.

He described the suspension of the NPP executives as unfair and hoped the party will rectify the issue as soon as possible.
“This clean-up exercise I organised was not politically motivated and so I don’t understand why some executives should be sacked because of a clean-up exercise my mother started before her demise years ago. I am only continuing what my mother left,” he added.
Asked if he has any intention of becoming a Member of Parliament, Obour said “it is only God who directs us in the world we live in. What I really wanted to do is to be a pastor after MUSIGA but if God directs me to go into politics, who am I to reject that? He quizzed.
