Brother of late Lance Corporal Mohammed Awal is certain the slain police officers would still be alive if they were armed.
Sawaba Musa blamed the incessant deaths of police officers in the country on the lack of logistics for officers combating crime.

Five police officers have been killed in line of duty within a month. Many security experts have attributed it to the lack of logistics for police personnel who ensure law and order in the country.
In support, Mr Musa on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem programme, Thursday said if his brother had a gun or was wearing bullet proof vest, he would still be alive.

“I saw my brother and he waved me only to be told he had died in 25 minutes. He didn’t have a gun or even pepper spray,” he bemoaned.
Mr Musa underscored the need for the police to be given guns, especially during patrols to avoid such unfortunate deaths.
