Tricycle riders, dealers call for regulation for growth of rural businesses

-

Some tricycle (Pragya) dealers and riders are appealing to the government for legalisation and regulation to help boost rural businesses in Ghana.

According to them, the tricycle business had become a vibrant means of transportation from the carrying of people to farm produce in rural areas to access points due to the nature of roads in most farming communities.

Acting Marketing Manager of Mohinani Group, Frank Mickson-Yeboah made this appeal in an interview with Adom News during the unveiling of a new sales branch of Bajaj Motorcycle at Pokuase, Accra.

Product Head of Bajaj Two Wheeler for Ghana, Mr Raja said they were embarking on sensitisation and training for mechanics to reduce the high rate of motorbike accidents in the country.

He stressed that motor riders would also be given extensive education on using their helmet and other safety measures to reduce the number of mortalities during motor accidents.

They are, therefore, calling on the government to legalise and regulate its use so more people could come on board.
