Private legal practitioner, Capt Rtd. Nkrabea Effah-Dartey has said 201766 L/Cpl Wassah Lincoln Isaac, the soldier who was captured on video campaigning against the construction of the 450-seat chamber for Parliament, should have been dismissed.

According to him, stripping off his rank and sentencing him to 90 days imprisonment with hard labour at the guardroom were too lenient.
He said the soldier should have been dismissed to serve as a deterrent to others.

“Everyone has his or her political views. I can assure you that there are soldiers and even police officers in the country who are die hard New Patriotic Party and National Democratic Congress, but the law is that if you are in uniform, keep your mouth shut,” he told Accra based Neat FM, monitored by Adomonline.com.

Capt Rtd. Effah-Dartey advised officers in uniform to rather use their positions to serve the nation instead of expressing their views on political issues.
He said any officer who wants to be involved in political issues must resign and do politics.
