He said all hopes to continue school after his Basic Education Certificate Examination proved futile because there was no money to continue.

Roaming from church to church to perform as a drummer, the ‘Bo No Ni’ hitmaker said he gathered enough money through his ministry, after serving God for some number of years to continue school.

Asked which Senior High School (SHS) he attended, Joe said he couldn’t follow his mates to school because he couldn’t afford then.

“I never went to any secondary school, I just did remedial classes [when I had gathered enough money through my ministry] at MODESCO. I even heard the school is no longer there,” he said.

Joe Mettle further gave details about how he got his SHS certificates to apply for Pentecost University College, where he read Marketing: “I needed a number of subjects to apply to the university. The Ministry kept me going so I couldn’t make time to study to do all of it. So I split them into two. I did four courses in one year where I applied to Pentecost to read Marketing,” he said.
