The rapper who recently took an exit from Sarkodie’s Sarkcess Music record label, Strongman Burner, has said he was the right musician to have been crowned Best Rapper of the Year during recently held Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 2019.
According to him, he wasn’t surprised Medikal won the category because the VGMA board failed to nominate him despite his efforts in the year under review.

Talking about Medikal’s achievement, Strongman said he would’ve easily taken the award if he were part of the nomination list.
He explained that Medikal didn’t release enough rap songs to be honoured with such an award, bragging that he saved Ghana’s rap music from dying.
“In my mind, I deserved it but I wasn’t nominated for the rapper of the year. Since, I wasn’t part, I opted for anyone to win. I really did a lot of rap but I received fewer nominations. I expected to be in the best rapper category even though I was nominated once,” he noted.
