Asante Kotoko are through to the semi-finals of the Tier 2 of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Special Competition after beating Berekum Arsenal by 2-1 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi yesterday.
Ebenezer Aboagye’s 34th minute goal was not enough for visiting Berekum Arsenal after Naby Keita opened the scoring in the 9th minute, with Kwame Boahene doubling the scores for the Porcupine Warriors to end an entertaining first half.
Asante Kotoko are now in the semi-finals of the competition.
Meanwhile, at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium, Ashanti Gold beat Medeama SC 1-0, Proud United were defeated by Unistar Academy by 3-1 and also, Nzema Kotoko carried the day as they beat Heart of Lions 5-3 on penalties after goalless draw in regulation time.
Ashanti Gold will welcome Asante Kotoko at the Obuasi Len Clay stadium while Unistar Academy face Nzema Kotoko at the Accra Sports Stadium in Accra in the semi-finals of the competition.
