A state burial service for Major Maxwell Adam Mahama who was murdered gruesomely a week ago by some residents of Denkyira-Obuasi in the Central Region is ongoing at the Forecourt of the State House in Accra as directed by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Leading members of the various political parties including Ex-President John Dramani Mahama, whose nephew is the slained soldier are there to show their last respect to Major Adam Mahama.
Ex-President John Agyekum Kufuor is also there to give his last respect to the late soldier.
Captain Mahama, who was on Monday posthumously promoted to a Major upon the recommendation of Major General Obed Boamah Akwa, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), commanded a detachment of army troops assigned to the Upper West Denkyira District to clamp down on illegal mining.
