Former President Mahama in Malawi to monitor election process

Voting is underway in Malawi’s tripartite elections, with 6.8 million registered voters electing President, 193 parliamentarians and 462 local government councilors.

The African Union Election Observation Mission to Malawi and other international groups including SADC, COMESA, the EU and Commonwealth have deployed observers across Malawi to monitor the election process.

This was disclosed by former President John Dramani Mahama on his Facebook Timeline, Tuesday, May 21, 2019.

Mr Mahama, who is the flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress, is among election observers in that country.

According to Mr Mahama, his team of observers have been visiting a number of centres in and around Blantyre and receiving reports from other observers on the field.
