The 20th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards was held at the Accra International Conference Centre but ended in a sour way as there was a fracas between Dancehall artistes Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale when Stonebwoy won the ‘Reggae Dancehall Artiste of the Year.’

While Stonebwoy was receiving his award, Shatta Wale with his guys trooped to the stage which brought a fight between their fans.

Stonebwoy could not hold that and pulled out a gun to apparently defend himself.

Host of last Saturday’s Awards, Kwami Sefa Kayi, revealed on Adom FM’s Morning Show ‘Dwaso Nsem’ that the British High Commissioner to Ghana, Iain Walker was among the first batch of dignitaries to have fled the Fantasy Dome at the International Trade Fair Centre in the wake of the confusion.

Mr Kayi, who sounded very worried about the incident, said the matter forced other Ministers of State, and high-profile personalities to also flee for their lives.

“Can you imagine, the British High Commissioner, Iain Walker was among those who first left the venue when the whole confusion started. He fled sharp. When the incident happened, the police cordoned off the area and I saw the British High Commissioner sneak out,” he explained.
