The Regional Executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Greater Accra Region (GAR) has urged Ghanaians to fully participate in the ongoing Ghana Card registration exercise in the Greater Accra Region.

In a statement signed by the Greater Accra Regional Chairman, Ade Coker, the party disclosed how important the card, as a source of identification in all legal transactions, is.

“In line with the decision of the national leadership, the regional executives of the Greater Accra Region NDC wishes to urge all and sundry, including party faithful, to participate  in the ongoing Ghana Card registration exercise in the Greater Accra Region,” the statement said.

“The GAR NDC is aware of the frustrations and numerous challenges facing prospective applicants and urges the National Identification Authority to take urgent steps to facilitate the processes.  Party members may contact the regional, constituency and branch executives in cases of difficulty,” the statement added.

Meanwhile, speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, the regional chairman said the party has taken it upon itself to educate members of the NDC on the importance of having the card.

“Every member in the Greater Accra Region is seriously being encouraged to go for the card because our grievances have now been addressed and the Voters Identification Card we complained about is now being accepted as a secondary identification for the documentation process,” he said.
