President of the Ghana Table Tennis Association, Mr Mawuko Afadzinu has advised that Ghana learns from past experiences to fix problems bedeviling the game.
According to the president, Ghana was once a powerhouse in table tennis, producing the likes of Esther Lamptey who was number 1 in Africa and E.A Quaye, who was champion in Africa for three years running.
He believes Ghana is no more at the top because the nation now lacks the technical eyes to spot and develop talents.
“In the past, the right level of investment was there, the framework for developing the game was there so it helped us develop the game, but it has now become history,” he said.
“For that to happen again, we have to go back and learn the lessons of old and refine them and apply them to the current situation,” he added.
The World Juniors Table
Tennis Championship of the tournament is still ongoing in Accra at the Bukom
Boxing Arena.
