President Akufo-Addo says a state of the art recycling plant will be constructed at Agbogbloshie as part of his quest to make Ghana one of the cleanest countries in Africa.

The President disclosed this at his third state of the nation’s address to the parliament “I will see to it that Accra is one of the neatest cities in Africa,” he stated.
The president stated that punitive measures will be ruled out to all who create filth in our cities “People who litter will be punished so will people who steal waste bins,” he stated.

He admitted that plastic waste is one of our biggest challenges as a country, which brought about the decision to establish a state of the art recycling plant at Agbogbloshie to help deal with filth in the country.
The address is in accordance with Article 67 of 1992 Constitution which states that “The President shall, at the beginning of each session of Parliament and before the dissolution of Parliament, deliver to Parliament a message on the state of the nation.”
