Management member of Asante Kotoko, Edmund Ackah has assured that Kotoko’s ambition to play in the quarterfinals of the CAF Confederations Cup is still alive despite their 1-0 loss in Sudan against Al Hilal in their opening group C game.

According to Ackah, per records available it is difficult to overcome Al Hilal when they play in Sudan, but Kotoko will do everything possible to reduce them to an ordinary side in the return leg on the 10th of March when they clash at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

“We knew from the beginning that our opponent [Al Hilal] is unbeaten at home, but beatable away.”

“They (Al Hilal) have won 3-0, 4-0 and 1-0, so they have not conceded out of their previous three matches at home and they have score 8 goals out of those matches which we are aware”

“Even if we will be booted out of the competition, we will make sure our target to qualify from the group stage is achieved.”

Kotoko will host Zesco United in Kumasi on Wednesday, February 13 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
