Counsel defending key suspect in the murder case of J. B. Danquah Adu, former MP for Abuakwa North, said the suspect, who is his client needs a medical examination.
Mr Augustine Obuor, Counsel for the accused person said some of the utterances of his client don’t up and therefore should be given medical attention.
“It might be true he committed the crime, but he might not have done it out of his own volition without anybody contracting him. I have been saying from day one that though a crime has been committed, he needs mental examination and until this examination is done, we cannot accept what he is saying or has said in court” he said.

His comment follows Daniel Asiedu’s claims for the second time accusing some elements within the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) of contracted him to kill JB Danquah Adu.
He told an Accra Magistrate Court on Wednesday that he planned the murder with these individuals and was told to accuse the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the murder.
According to him, he has repented and is ready to speak the truth.

Daniel Asiedu last year – specifically June 20, 2018 – confessed in an Accra District Court that he had been contracted by the late MP’s own party members to have him killed.
According to him, his “contractors” had abandoned him since he carried out the lot and was arrested.
For him, he was making the confession as a result of repentance from his previous life
But lawyer Augustine Obuor on Accra based Okay FM said the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s conduct require a psychiatric test.

To him, the medical examination will determine whether he is mentally sound or not.
“I think some of the things my client says are not normal and so I urge them to subject him to a medical examination to determine because his conduct doesn’t add up” he stated.
Meanwhile, the Court on Wednesday committed Daniel Asiedu, nicknamed Sexy Don Don, and one other accused, Vincent Bosso, to appear before the High Court for trial to commence.
