Spokesperson for former president John Dramani Mahama, James Agyenim Boateng has reacted to an online publication by the Senior Minister of State, Yaw Osafo-Marfo on the meeting held between the former president and members of the Diplomatic Corps following state-sponsored brutality.
The former President on Wednesday received a delegation of diplomats where he sought to share with them his position on the January 31 violence at La Bawaleshie, a suburb of Accra.
In that incident, masked and heavily armed Special Forces fired shots and beat up persons suspected to be hiding guns and ammunition to disrupt the by-elections.

However, Senior Minister, Yaw Osafo-Maafo, said it was wrong for former President John Mahama to show photos and videos of the violence that rocked the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election to the diplomatic community.
In a statement signed by Mr Agyenim Boateng, he condemned the action of the senior minister and stated Mr Mahama’s action was appropriate.

“It is shameful and hypocritical on the part of the Mr Osafo-Marfo that he had the temerity to describe Mr Mahama’s meeting with the Diplomats the way he did especially when he serves in the Akufo Addo government under whose watch state-sponsored goons with weapons and Police SWAT Hunter Vehicles were unleashed on voters.”
