NDC to hold 4-day event ahead of its 25th anniversary

The National Democratic Congress (NDC), will be 25 years on June 10, 2017, and the party is rolling out a year-long plan to mark the Silver Jubilee countrywide under the theme: Mirroring the past into the future.”

A statement from the party signed by its Deputy General Secretary, Koku Anyidoho, said a four-day event will be held in Accra to herald the milestone beginning Thursday, June 8 to 11, 2017.

As part of the four day event, a discussion session will be held on Thursday, Muslim prayer session on Friday, rally at Ashaiman on Saturday, with a climax on Sunday at a Christian church service.

Founder of the NDC, Jerry John Rawlings, former President John Dramani Mahama, General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia among others, are billed to speak at the rally which will be held at 1:00pm at the Ashaiman Mandela Park.

An initial four-day itinerary heralding the year-long celebration is as follows:

1.Thursday, June 08, 2017 – Panel Discussion at the Adabraka Head Office of the NDC @ 11am. Panelists: Comrade Alhaji Hudu Yahaha, Comrade Dan Abodakpi, Comrade Alban Bagbin, Comrade Ama Benyiwa-Doe, Comrade Edith Haizel, Chairman: Comrade Alhaji Mahama Idrissu.

2.Friday, June 09, 2017 – Muslim Prayers

3.Saturday, June 10, 2017 – Mammoth Rally at Ashaiman Mandela Park @ 1pm. Main Speakers: Comrade Jerry John Rawlings, Founder, Comrade John Dramani Mahama, Immediate-past President/Leader, Comrade Kofi Portuphy, Chairman/Leader, Comrade Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, General Secretary, Comrade Haruna Iddrisu, Minority Leader.

4.Sunday, June 11, 2017 – Christian Church Service All Party faithful are to take note and clad themselves in Party colours during the period of this auspicious Silver Jubilee celebrations.
