The Constituency Chairman for National Democratic Congress NDC at Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency, Bismarck Aborbi, says the decision by New Patriotic Party (NPP) to hold a rally in the constituency is borne out of fear of former President John Dramani Mahama’s visit to the area.
According to the politician, the visit will impact greatly on the upcoming by-elections hence the decision by the ruling party to organize what he describes us an “emergency rally”.
Speaking to Adom News, Bismarck Aborbi, said he was optimistic that the NDC would come out victorious in spite of the NPP’s rally.
NPP Chairman for the area, Jeffery Edward, however, rubbished Chairman Aborbi’s claim and has described it as unfounded.
“This rally has been part of our plans since day one; it doesn’t take a day to plan a rally so it can’t be a panic reaction as purported by Chairman Aborbi,” he stated.
NPP will today organize a rally at the Bawaleshie Park to herald their activities ahead of Thursday’s by-elections at Ayawaso West Wuogon by-elections to replace Agyarko who passed on last year.
