Paperless system at port helpful – GUTA

-

National Organiser for the Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA), Clement Boateng, says the “paperless system” which was introduced by the government to help easy clearance of good at the port is helpful.

According to Mr Boateng, the only major challenge is the system failure which sometimes slows the process.

“The paperless system is very good [because] everything is electronic but it will be more convenient if the government can provide a backup to help the process when there is a system failure,” he stated.

The paperless system was introduced by the incumbent government at the port two years ago, in the bid to stopping corruption and reducing human interference in the processes at the port.
