I have no confidence in Ghanaian referees – Bechem United boss

-

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bechem United Football Club, Prof. Nana Kwasi Darling has expressed that, with or without integrity test, he has no confidence in Ghanaian referees until they start officiating competitive games.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) in collaboration with FIFA/ CAF organized an Integrity course for 150 Referees to beef up the number of Ghanaian officials due to the Anas expose which led to suspending and banning several referees in Ghana and Africa.

Prof. Darling stated on Asempa FM that, it is good that the remaining referees have been taken through the integrity course, but things will not be as expected after their first matches.

“These referees they are talking about, we will see what will happen after handling their first matches.”

“A belief system is a system that is working and giving results; we have to exercise patience for them to start officiating first.”

“Until I see a Ghanaian referee officiating a match without any form of doubt, I cannot say I have confidence in them.”  He asserts.

The Integrity course for the 150 Referees ended on Saturday, January 26 with an intensive training under the supervision of FIFA instructors, Onias Felix Tangawarima (Zimbabwe), Boubakar Hannachi (Tunisia) and An Yan Lim Kee Chong (Mauritius).
