Audio: Kidnappers promised not to kill my daughter – Victim’s father

Alexander Kojo Koranchie, father of one of the kidnapped girls in the Western regional capital, Takoradi says he is hopeful that his missing daughter would be found alive because the kidnappers promised not to kill her.

According to him, the kidnapper’s main aim was just to extort monies from him before they release his 18-year-old daughter, Priscilla Mantebea Koranchie.

“My daughter had gone to town to buy some items when the unfortunate incident happened. On that fateful day in the night, I received a call from her and she told me she has been taken to a place she doesn’t know.

“I later received another call from the kidnappers who asked that I send them GHC50,000 so they could release my daughter. The kidnappers keep using my daughter’s phone to call me.” The worried father said on Adom FM’s Morning Show “Dwaso Nsem” Thursday.

Mr. Koranchie, noted that, one of the kidnappers who constantly speak to him in Nigerian accent always demanded money.

He added that, thee kidnappers stop calling when he failed to pay more money to them.

A growing number of teenagers and young Ghanaian women have been kidnapped in Takoradi.

Three girls have been named: they are 18-year-old Priscilla Mantebea Koranchie, 18-year-old Ruth Love Quayson and 21-year-old Priscilla Blessing Bentum. The police say three girls have been kidnapped, Takoradi residents say it is seven.

The disappearance of the first victim was reported in August 2018, and the two others took place in December.

Samuel Udoetuk Wills was arrested but broke jail and escaped, and was later rearrested at Nkroful near Takoradi.

But the worried father is calling on the police to act fast as they can no longer take it.
