Samuel Offei, a 41-year-old cook has been sentenced to seven years imprisonment in hard labour for kidnapping the four-year-old son of his ex-girlfriend.
He pleaded guilty and prayed for mercy.
Offei explained to the court that he kidnapped the child without any bad intention but to get back the love of the mother who was his ex-girlfriend Ms Theresa Ansah, a 33-year-old trader.

He said Theresa broke up their relationship without any reason.
Ms Zennaira Adum-Atta, an Assistant State Attorney prosecuting, told the court presided over by Ms Marian Affoh that, Offei kidnapped the child for about two months before he was found and arrested by the police.
She said the child suffered no physical injury upon physical examination but however suffered muscle pain which was as a result of too much sitting and sleeping.

The court advised that a laboratory test should be conducted on the child to find out whether his vital organs are in good condition since the child is not grown enough to narrate what he went through during the period of the ordeal.
