The survey results among other things sought people’s views
on which political party they wished governed the country and which candidate
between President Akufo-Addo and former President Mahama they preferred.
Presenting the findings, head of the Political Science Department at the
University of Ghana, Dr. Maame Gyekye-Jandoh said that President Akufo-Addo
would have led the poll with 49.3% with John Mahama trailing behind with 33.3%
and Dr. Kwesi Nduom getting about 7%.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Friday, Asiedu Nketia said the NPP should be alarmed at the outcome of the survey.

He said, considering the margin the NPP and President Akufo-Addo won by in the landslide victory of 2016 elections, the outcome of the research is rather an indictment on the current President and a testament of his dipping popularity.
“The survey is damming for Akufo-Addo’s popularity rating. If after two years his popularly has dipped, it good news for us; we are in a comfortable lead” he added.
General Mosquito as he is popularly called was however not enthused about the results for the NDC and its 2016 candidate, former President John Mahama.

“You don’t use guess work in doing intellectual exercise so comparing John Mahama who is not a candidate of the NDC for the 2020 elections to President Akufo-Addo is quite dishonest” he stated.
Asiedu Nketia is confident if they continue to expose the rot in the Akufo-Addo government, 2020 elections will be a cool chop for the NDC.
