Captain of the senior national team, black stars, Asamoah Gyan, has described his 2018 season as successful despite many injuries and their attendant lack of playing time.
Ghana’s all-time top scorer, speaking on the Ultimate Sports show, explained that he was not in the good books of previous managers at Kayserispor, a situation that changed with a change in management.
“I will describe my 2018 footballing year as successful even though I battled a lot with injuries and did not enjoy enough playing time at my current club. I am happy the little time I had on the field was fruitful and I also got crucial goals for the team”, he said.
The former Sunderland striker further stressed that he was disappointed along the line because he believes in himself and knows his capabilities.
Gyan also did not deny that due to his good performance under current manager, a lot of offers are trickling, offers he said he was yet to decide on.
“It was a little frustrating at the beginning of the season when I was not enjoying playing time because I believe in myself and I know about my capabilities. Offers from various clubs have started coming in and I need to be careful and decide where to go next”, he added.
Asamoah Gyan has scored twice in all competition for his club side in 2018 after 12 games and he hopes he gets more playing time since it destroys his scoring record.
