The National Youth Wing of the NPP led by Henry Nana Boakye fed and made donations to the Heart of Father Outreach and Kinda Heart Home, a charity home at Old Ningo in the Ningo Prampram Municipality.
The donation exercise carried under the theme, Feed the Child, Save the Future, saw the youth wing donate bags of rice, boxes of cooking oil, blankets, drinking cups, rubber buckets, mosquito nets, boxes of smokeless mosquito coils, food, drinks and other assorted items. An undisclosed amount of money was also presented to the charity home.
Nana-B also presented 100 bags of cement which was the youth wing’s contribution to a building project the orphanage was executing.
Addressing the gathering, Nana-B said there was no opportune time to assist the needy in society than Christmas.
He asserted that the true worth of any society is not how wealthy and prosperous that society is but a true society, is one that extends help to its needy and less privileged.
He added that assisting the less-privileged in society is a cardinal element of President Akufo-Addo’s developmental agenda and that is what reinforces the many pro-poor programmes introduced under the Akufo-Addo led NPP Government.
He cited the Free SHS Programme which has enabled an additional 180,000 students to access secondary education, recruitment of 100,000 graduates from various tertiary institutions under the
Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) and the many other policies the government has introduced to provide opportunities for the less-privileged in the society.
The leadership of the charity home thanked Nana-B and the entire youth wing for the benevolence shown them.
Dignitaries who graced the occasion were Hon Jonathan Teye Doku, the Municipal Chief Executive for Ningo Prampram, the two deputy National Youth Organisers, Miss. Perpetual Lomokie Akwadaa and Mr. Joseph Kwayaja. Mr. Moses Aborh, the youth organiser for the Greater Accra Region was also in attendance as well as constituency executives.
