Aspiring GFA President, Nana Yaw Amponsah, has said the Normalisation Committee has too much on its hands and may struggle to complete their work within the six-month mandate given to them by FIFA.
In an interview on Asempa FM’s Boxing Day edition of the Ultimate Sports Show, Mr Amponsah who is seen to have a decent chance to lead Ghana’s football from 2019 as president opined that, “The Normalization Committee can’t complete their mandate even when they are given 100 years so they should prioritize”.
“I would like them to focus more on the key elements and get the job done,” he urged.
“The Committee has to learn on the job because they don’t have a typical football person in their,” he noted.
Mr Amponsah who has over ten years working experience in football and sports administration further stated that “Free and fair election is another thing the Normalization Committee should focus on.
FIFA and government resorted to the constitution of the Normalization Committee to govern Ghana football for six months until the election of a new administration.
Mr Amponsah who is currently the bankroller of Phar Rangers FC holds a Masters’ Degree (LLM) in Sports Law and Practice from the Leicester De Montfort University in the U.K.
He is credited for masterminding the transfer of several Ghanaian players abroad in the last decade.
