Support Normalization Committee – Matthew Ampofo

-

Football financier, Mathew Ampofo, has called on the Ghanaian football fraternity to be patient and support the FIFA Normalization Committee.

His comments come after a group within the football fraternity have launched unending attacks on the Committee, calling on them to lay out the roadmap for elections to vote for the next line of the Association’s officials.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show, Mr Ampofo who is head of finance for the National Investment Bank (NIB) said: “The Normalization Committee is doing well so far”.

“Let’s be patient and support the Normalization Committee to complete their mandate, “he urged.

“We are not in normal times and in situations like this, rules don’t work,” explained.

“Going forward, I expect football to be free and fair,” he added.

FIFA installed a Normalization Committee in Ghana in September to restructure, reform, and normalize football, following the dissolution of the Executive Committee of the country’s football governing body headed by banned ex-President, Kwesi Nyantakyi.

The Normalization Committee, whose mandate is expected to expire on March 31, 2019, will also act as an electoral committee whose decisions are final and binding, although its members will not be eligible for any of the open positions in the upcoming GFA elections under any circumstance.
