A 56-year-old pupil teacher, Isaac Wilson Appiah, accused of inserting his middle finger into a 10-year-old girl’s vagina, was on Thursday remanded by an Accra Circuit Court.
Appiah, who pleaded not guilty to indecent assault, was subsequently remanded to re-appear on January 2, 2019, by the court presided over by Ruby Adjeley Quaison.
The prosecutor, Chief Inspector Kofi Atimbire, said the complainant is the mother of the victim, whiles the victim is a class three pupil with the accused as her class teacher who resides at Mateheko.

On November 28, this year, the victim went to school early in the morning and met the accused in the classroom.
According to the prosecutor, the accused fondled the victim and inserted his middle finger into her vagina and warned her not to tell anybody about the act, else he would cane her.
Based on that, the victim kept the incident to herself. On November 30 at about 17:00 hours, the complainant detected changes in the way the victim sits and when she examined her, she saw blood stains in her pants.

When the victim was quizzed, she mentioned Appiah as the one who inserted his fingers into her vagina.
He said a report was then made to the police where a medical report form was issued to the complainant to seek medical care for the victim. Appiah was subsequently arrested by the police.
