The Minister for Regional Reorganization and Development has assured of massive developments in the new regions being created.
Dan Botwe said government has set aside GH₵20 million as seed capital to accelerate development in the six new regions.

Ahead of a referendum for the creation of new regions to decentralise governance, many have questioned how government will fund its development.
Those against the creation insist that, the six new regions will be a drain on the public purse especially when even the 10 still have deficit when it comes to developmental projects.
In a response, Dan Botwe on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Thursday allied the fears of such critics.

He said 2019 budget made a GH¢20 million allocation per region as seed money for the provision of critical infrastructure to enable the new regions to take off smoothly.”
Hon. Botwe who is also the Member of Parliament for Okere said government afterwards would provide more funding to accelerate the growth of those new regions.
He however stressed that, government has no interest in the outcome of the referendum which comes off on December 27 this year to create six new regions.

Mr. Botwe said as President Nana Akufo-Addo stated, the creation of the new regions is driven by people who have petitioned for it to be done and are using their own resources to campaign for it.
