ICU calls for the removal of COCOBOD Chairman

The Chairman of the Industrial and Commercial Workers Union (ICU), Solomon Kotei is calling for the removal of the Chairman of COCOBOD Hackman Owusu Agyeman.

In an interview with Adom News, Mr Kotei, said the Chairman denigrated the workers of the company with certain statements he made on media platforms.

Mr Kotei alleged that, the Chairman described workers of COCOBOD as mosquitoes draining the blood of farmers when they demanded allowances.

“We didn’t expect him to come and disgrace us this way if he can’t meet our needs. His behavior was infantile, a display of ignorance about how things work in the industry and a betrayal of in-house issues.”

Mr Kotei stated that, what Mr Owusu Agyeman revealed were lies and that is why they are asking for his removal.

,The Board Chairman, Hackman Owusu-Agyeman in an interview on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem show explained that the board increased the salaries of the over 900 staff by 10 percent which is a call for bonus will be very unreasonable.

Mr. Owusu Agyeman added that Workers of Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) will not get any bonuses this year in spite of the bumper harvest in the cocoa sector
