The Public Relations Officer of the Greater Regional Police Command, DSP Afia Tenge, has urged the public to help donate blood for the Ghana Police Hospital’s blood bank.
The blood donation exercise forms part of the service’s week celebration in a bid to helping save lives.

“You don’t know who the blood you donate today will save. I was a beneficiary some time ago and that is why I want to help stock the blood bank,” she said while Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosiisen show.
The head of the Ghana Police Hospital Blood Bank, ASP Doris Hammond, added that the hospital’s blood bank has run out of stock and needed to be filled.
“We have less than 50 litres of blood at the blood bank, currently but need about 300 to 500 litres to get the blood bank in shape to support the facility,” he noted.

The donation exercise is expected to take place on December 7, 2018, at the Tesano Police Training School at 8 am.
It will begin with a counselling session after which health status of patrons will be checked to ensure donors are eligible to donate.
Patrons will also .go home with assorted items donated by sponsors.
