The much-awaited maiden edition of the Ghana Outstanding Women’s Award (GOWA) successfully took place on November 30, 2018, at the Alisa Hotel in Accra.

The event was to honour Ghanaian women who have impacted the growth of the country in areas such as politics, health, education, sports and showbiz.

Afua Asantewaa Aduonum, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of GOWA, at the event stated how important it was to award women who have played vital roles in the development of Ghana need to be recognized and acknowledged.

“Awards are a way to encourage good works and inculcate competitive spirit. It is the reason this scheme has been established to annually reward and to encourage our women. These awardees have impacted society with their respective projects and documentaries which we are about to witness will bear me out.”
