Flagbearer aspirant of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Ekwow Spio-Garbrah, has said the party needs more than money to win the 2020 general elections.
According to him, the image of the party has been badly dented and needs a competent and incorruptible leader to lead the party.

His comment is in reaction to claims that former President John Mahama is the preferred candidates due to his financial resources.
Though party delegates know in their hearts that he [Mahama] cannot win the 2020 elections, they are only tagging behind him due to their desire to squander the vast amount of money at his disposal.
Addressing the media in Accra, Spio-Garbrah said the focus of the NDC should not be on a candidate with financial muscle.

Rather, he indicated that delegates must “elect a leader who cannot be smeared with allegations of corruption and incompetence“.
