The Black Queens of Ghana have been paired in Group A with Algeria, Mali and Cameroon after a CAF organised draw of the 11th edition of the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations to be hosted in Ghana.
Ghana’s quest to host and win will begin with a tough opener against Algeria on November 17 in Accra. The Black Queens will later play Mali on 20th November and then face Cameroon three days later.
The three-time finalists are hoping to win the tournament for the very first time and are motivated by the fact that is going to played on home soil.
West Africa giants, Cameroon are also looking to go one step better than when they hosted the tournament two years ago where they were runners-up to Nigeria with Algeria and Mali expecting a medal zone achievement for the first time.
Defending champions Nigeria, who have won the tournament a record ten times, are in Group B and will face South Africa, Kenya and Zambia.
The tournament which kicks off on November 17 to December 1 will see the top three finishers represent Africa at the FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2018.
