PPP Director of Operations joins founder’s crusade

The director of operations for the Progressive People’s Party’s (PPP), Nana Ofori Owusu, has added his voice to former flagbearer of his party, Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom for government to support indigenous banks and other financial institutions.

The duo are asking the government to find ways of maintaining the local banks through liquidity support to prevent foreign banks from taking over.

Nana Ofori Owusu added that government must not only support local banks but other local institutions such as the agriculture sector through the state’s purchasing power.

“We are in a difficult cross road…let’s rise up to the occasion. The government should support the local banks through liquidity support; it is high time Ghanaians became selfish and support, purchase and safeguard what is ours,”.

Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom recently appealed to the incumbent government to support local banks so that customers can have faith in them as the current panic withdrawals are affecting the banking system drastically.
