Former President John Mahama has taken a swipe at the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), for what he says is the economic hardship Ghanaians are facing.
“You can engage in, and tell all the lies to win political power, when you are in government the reality of peoples’ lives will expose you,” the former President Tweeted on Thursday.

Hard times
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo recently admitted that the economy of Ghana is going through some trying times, settling the political controversy about the state of the economy.

The President, however, dismissed concerns that these difficulties amount to a crisis; assuring his audience that the government is on top of the situation.
Speaking to the Ghanaian Community in New York, USA, Mr Akufo-Addo attributed the difficulties in the system to the “dramatic increase in crude oil prices” and the strengthening of the US dollar.
