Osu in Accra has been named among the 50 coolest neighbourhoods in the world.
The rankings were done by UK-based Time Out Editors, who spoke to several city experts and 15,000 people around the world.

Osu, which houses the seat of government, Parliament, a majority of Ghana’s ministries, major national infrastructure and the popular Oxford Street was the only town in Ghana which made the list.
It beat 30 other major neighbourhoods in developed countries across the world.

Apart from housing the presidency for decades, Osu is also very popular for the Oxford Street which is home to several businesses like international banks, hotels, restaurants, and shopping centres which make it a major tourist destination.
Osu Mantse, Nii Okwei Kinka Dowuona VI told Adom News he is very happy about the ranking, adding that it is about time Osu worked at becoming the number one coolest place in the world.

Nii Okwei Kinkan Dowuona also said if the people of Osu have been able to accommodate government and businesses for all these years, then the Osu stool deserves some recognition, respect and protocol treatment from governments.
