9 NPP Reg. Organisers endorse Konlaabig for Deputy National Organizer slot

-

NPP Regional Organisers for nine regions have unanimously endorsed the Brong-Ahafo Regional Organizer, Rasheed Konlaabig to run alongside Sammy Awuku as the Deputy National Organizer of the party.

In a statement, signed by all nine Regional Organizers and copied to the President, Vice President and the entire leadership of the party, the nine said: “Beyond any doubt, Rasheed is the most qualified person to assist Sammy Awuku as Deputy National Organizer.”

The nine regional organizers who did the endorsement are Kwame Appiah Kodua, Eastern Region, who is also Dean of Regional Organizers; Percyval Dennis Quacoe, Central Region; Abdul Ganiyu Mohammed, Western Region; Francis Adomako, Ashanti Region; Alhaji Rashid Salifu COP, Northern Region; Mustapha Ibrahim Dimah, Upper West Region, Emmanuel Korsi Bodja, Volta Region; Prince Obeng, Greater-Accra Region, and Jerry Asamani, Upper East Region.

According to the statement, as a two-term Brong-Ahafo Regional Organizer, Rasheed has done it all, adding that in the recent Regional Executive elections, Rasheed was the only one who run unopposed, which is a first in the history of the party.

The nine said their resolve to support Rasheed to deputize for Sammy Awuku stems from meeting with Sammy Awuku on September 5, 2018, where they took a unanimous decision to endorse the former.

They described Rasheed as a person who exemplifies hard work, honesty, fairness, and thoughtfulness in all he does, saying, “We believe Rasheed will use those qualities to create a better balance between party and government activities towards election 2020.”

” We most admire Rasheed for his selfless volunteering spirit and work. All of us have worked with Rasheed in various capacities and there we acquired respect and admiration for his generosity, intelligence, and dedication to the cause of our party,” they said.

The nine said they chose Rasheed as nominee for the office of Deputy National Organizer for three main reasons:

“Rasheed has acquired a great deal of experience dealing with polling stations, electoral areas and constituencies in the Brong-Ahafo region and the northern sector of Ghana when he served as an organiser for our party. In this position, Rasheed gained respect from the public as well as the party people and even the then ruling government officials. In recognition of this and many other factors, he contested the regional organizer position unopposed.

“Rasheed demonstrates strong ethics and a sense of safety for all of us. With such standards, he conveys a commitment to fairness, instilling confidence that both he and all nine of us will honour the winning expectations ahead of election 2020 and beyond.

“When confronted with organisational crisis, Rasheed is able to mobilise people and money to support the primary goal and get back to business as quickly as possible. We experienced this quality over and over, especially during the 2016 election. His significant contribution in mobilising action and support in this election was phenomenal, and we cannot emphasise this enough. Taken together, these attributes make him extremely reliable.

They noted that over the last six years, Sammy Awuku has created a challenging force within the NPP and the country, and they are committed to protecting that score because they are going to continue supporting him and the party. But to let this happen, he needs a second-in-command who understands camaraderie, grassroots participation and mobilization.

According to them, both Awuku and Konlaabig are very well liked and respected in their communities, where they have served long years as organizers for the party and will, therefore, make a formidable pair ahead of election 2020.

They are therefore pleading with the Steering Committee, National Council and National Executive Committee of the party to confirm his nomination by all nine regional organizers of the party.
