A former director of elections for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Martin Agyei Korsah has urged the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to, as a matter of urgency, engage the Electoral Commission (EC) on challenges the party is facing as far as electoral processes are concerned.
He believes the NDC is faced with so many challenges with the EC because it boycotted the Inter-Party Advisory Committee meeting organised by the Electoral Commission last month.
The Electoral Commission (EC) is embarking on a limited voter registration exercise ahead of the December referendum for the creation of six new regions.

The registration exercise which is expected to take place within 47 district offices of the EC for the affected areas will be done online through the commission’s Voter Management System.
But, the opposition National Democratic Congress is raising concerns about the mode of registration.
National Organiser, Kofi Adams, has said the NDC is not in favour of the processes being used by the EC.
“If the arrangement we are hearing is what they are going to do on the ground, it means that it is going to create a problem,” he said.
Mr Agyei Korsah said though the NDC is right to raise concerns about the mode of registration, he believes their issues will be well addressed if they stop engaging the public through the media.
“NDC have a case if they say they have some concerns. They should engage the EC directly so their concerns will be addressed faster else I’m not sure they will see an improvement if they continue the radio talk,” he said.
“The commission should also find a way to help them [NDC] but I think all these wouldn’t have happened if they hadn’t boycotted the IPAC meeting:” he said on Neat FM monitored by Adomonline.com.
