A former National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for La Dadekotopon has dared vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to prove his competence by saving the cedi from further fall against major trading currencies.
Nii Amasah Namoale said it is obvious the former deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana is no economic wizkid.
The Ghana cedi, which depreciated against the US dollar by 3 to 4 per cent has shot up the cost of doing business in the country.
Between May and June this year, the local currency has experienced a 0.7 per cent depreciation and now sells at GHS4.44 to $1.

The Ghana Chamber of Commerce and Industry is warning of a severe crisis in the private sector should the government fail in dealing with the fall of the Ghana cedi against major currencies.
Government has assured it is putting in place prudent measures to arrest the local currency.
Speaking on Adom FM’s Morning Show “Dwaso Nsem” Tuesday, Nii Amasah Namoale said the cedi has exposed Dr. Bawumia who bragged about being an economic wizkid.
He cited how the vice president accused the Mahama government of being incompetent when the cedi depreciated against the dollar but it is rather worse under his watch.
“Bawumia was the same person who accused the NDC of messing up the economy and even accused us of allowing the cedi to fall. Now it’s time for him to arrest the cedi” the former MP scoffed.
