-

The Empowerment Worship Centre, a Bible-believing church with the mandate to win souls and prepare them for the soon-coming of Christ Jesus, led by its lead Pastor, Prophet Gideon Danso has announced the fifth edition of its annual medical and educational outreach programme, dubbed LifeCheck.

The church’s medical outreach programme will offer a wide range of medical services including general OPD services, specialist consultations, laboratory tests(ranging from blood sugar levels to prostatic specific antigen), eye screening, dental services among others.

This year’s event, scheduled to take place at the La Baweleshi Park on Saturday 15th September, 2018 is targeted at reaching over 10,000 people within the catchment area.

This laudable initiative by the Church was instituted in 2014 and since then, thousands of people have been touched both directly in indirectly even with the non-medical services such as the donation of school bags, stationery, food packs and registration of beneficiaries onto the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).

In announcing the 2018 edition of LifeCheck, Prophet Gideon Danso, Lead Pastor of the church, indicated that even though regular medical checks were important, most people fail to do so due to cost or availability of time. He urged the general public to take advantage of this event to ensure that they are thoroughly checked out medically.

He added that the church’s mandate of preaching the gospel to the poor does not end at sharing the word, he noted that a greater part of the call to be a Christian includes acts of charity and offering of support to those in need to demonstrate the love the Love Christ.

Residents living in and around the La Baweleshi Park, Shiashie, Okponglo, Mempeasem, Adjiringanor and its surrounding areas including Madina are being entreated to take advantage of this rare opportunity to check their health status, get registered onto the NHIS and have an opportunity to speak to a qualified medical practitioner/ counsellor free of charge.

LifeCheck is one of the many avenues through which Empowerment Worship Center reaches out to the vulnerable in the society through the sharing of the gospel and attending to their physical needs as well. It will be recalled that in June this year, the church’s Young Adults Ministry embarked on a four-day missions, donations and outreach activity in Akyereboanda and its surrounding villages located in the Western Region of Ghana.
