A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has launched a scathing attack on the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) for criticizing government’s decision to build a national cathedral.
David Prah maintained that, the Akufo-Addo led administration will not succumb to unnecessary pressure to halt its decision to build a temple for God.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo has commissioned a committee of distinguished clergymen to work at ensuring the construction of the national cathedral.
As part of the committee’s terms of reference, it is supposed to source funding from corporate Ghana for the project.
But the opposition NDC has raised issues with regards to the construction of the cathedral, particularly with the sitting of the project.

They argue that ejecting judges from their current residence and the breakdown of those buildings for the national cathedral project is a misplaced priority.
But David Prah on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem Tuesday said issues being raised by the NDC is borne out of sheer jealousy.
He indicated that, the opposition are just making ‘ugly noises’ because of the goodwill the NPP will enjoy should it complete the project.
Mr. Prah who is also the Public Relations Officer of the National Service Scheme noted that, the construction of the National Cathedral has no implication on the national purse and cannot be said to be a drain on the tax payers’ money.

He suggested the NDC also build a national shrine if it is fortunate enough to come back to power in future.
“NPP is committed to building a national cathedral and national mosque so the NDC can also build a national shrine when they come to power” he scoffed.
david Prah added that, the project is for the nation and must be supported.
