Ashanti Regional New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairman, Bernard Antwi Bosiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, demands estranged former gender minister, Otiko Afisa Djaba apologizes to the President for her conduct in rejecting an ambassadorial position offered her.
Madam Otiko Djaba, after raising issues with her sack from government, resigned from politics, citing her stroke-ridden ex-husband as one of the reasons for not accepting the position.

However, Mr Wontumi is disappointed that she rejected the position after she was chosen out of many who were equally qualified and worked hard for the party to come to power.
Chairman Wontumi thinks apologizing to the President and the people of Ghana will heal wounds.

“Otiko needs to appologise to the President and Ghanaians because she has disrespected him. People like us have been loyal to the President but we don’t fight for positions and you have gotten an ambassadorial position and all you can do is to reject it and claim your husband is sick. She should give us a break,” he said.
