National Organiser of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams, has vowed to ensure that former President John Mahama leads the party in 2020.
According to him, he will not vote for the other persons whose names have popped up as possible flagbearers of the NDC because he believes Mahama is competent and the right person to lead the party.
“Mahama is the right person to lead the NDC so I will do all I can within my means to make sure that he is made flagbearer and will win the 2020 elections,” he said.
“I know some people are also in the race, but my focus is on Mahama. I’m going to sacrifice my time and everything to make sure Mahama is on,” he added.

even before the NDC opens nomination for the flagbearer race, about five of the party’s bigwigs have declared their intentions to lead the party into the 2020 elections.
2nd Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Bagbin; former CEO of the National Health Insurance Authority, Sylvester Mensah; for Minister of Trade, Dr Ekow Spio-Garbrah; Professor Joshua Alabi, and NDC Communicator Stephen Atubiga have all declared their intentions to contest the race.
But Mr Adams, speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen Wednesday believes the former president is the one fit to win.
Mr Adams said Mr Mahama’s inclusion makes the race more competitive.
According to him, the party will contest the 2020 elections on the record and achievements of the former president and his inclusion is good for the NDC.
