Disciplinary Committee has always been problem – Former GFA boss

-

Former president of the Ghana Football Association, Mr. Awuah Nyamekye has revealed that the Disciplinary Committee from time immemorial has been the major problem of the association.

Speaking on the Ultimate Sports show, the long serving administrator said all the woes and misunderstanding within the Football Association stems from the fact that the Disciplinary Committee is unable to deal with issues in time

and they are very loaded with issues the Premier league board should be able to address directly.

“From 1990 that I assumed office as the President of the Association till I resigned in 1992, the major problem of the Association has to do with the Disciplinary Committee and I am surprised it has not been properly addressed”, he said.

“During my era, we sought to give the Premier League bard more administrative powers to be able to address some issues and not necessarily refer to the Disciplinary Committee. I felt they were over loaded and could not work effectively”, he added.

Moving forward, the former member of the Executive Committee under the Nyantakyi led administration said the Premier league Board handle most premier league cases without necessarily referring to the Disciplinary Committee.

“The premier League Bard needs more powers to run the league and also resolve most of the cases that crops up during the season”.

Mr. Nyamekye advocated for more administrative powers to enable the Premier League Board handle cases.
