We will beat NDC 1.5 million votes in 2020 if Mahama contest – Wontumi

-

Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Bernard Antwi Boasiako has said that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) would lose the 2020 elections to the NPP party by a stretch of 1.5 million votes if former President Mahama is allowed to contest.

The three-time lucky NPP leader, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo polled 5,716,026 to beat former President John Dramani Mahama who had 4,713, 277, resulting in a margin of about 1,002,749 votes.

But according to Chairman Wontumi, if the NDC party projects ex-president John Mahama back as flag bearer to contest in the 2020 elections, then it’s a green light for the NPP party to widen its margin to more million votes in the 2020 elections.

“Mahama’s corruption issue hasn’t changed. We thank Akufo-Addo for how he is treating and taking back all the monies in their pockets. We will beat NDC 1.5 million votes in 2020 if they still bring back Mahama.

“As a president he allowed people to steal all of our money. It can never happen under Akufo-Addo’s administration. God forbid” said.

Nevertheless, Chairman Wontumi disclosed Ghanaians have not forgiven Mahama for squandering the state’s funds reason he thinks he won’t come back to contest in the 2020 December elections.

“Ghanaians won’t forgive Mahama. Onaapo won’t come back to power. He can’t come back. NDC wants to use a basket to hold water at the 2020 elections…” he said to Neat FM.
