Ghanaian rapper, Kwesi Arthur, lost out on the 2018 edition of Black Entertainment Awards (BET Awards) Viewers’ Choice Best New International Act category to South African music icon, Sjava at.
The BET Awards was held on Sunday, June 24, 2018, in Los Angeles, USA.
Ghana lost out on the nominations for this year’s “Best International Act” but Kwesi Arthur won a “surprise” nomination for the Viewer’s Choice Award but lost eventually to a Jabulani Hadebe, better known by his stage name Sjava, a South African award-winning recording artist.

Even after the South Africa was announced winner during the Pre-Show on Sunday, Kwesi Arthur didn’t feel like a loser.
He said in a Tweet that, “How can I lose when I came from nothing.”
Kwesi Arthur is the second Ghanaian artiste to be nominated for that category.

Sarkodie and Stonebwoy are the only Ghanaians to have won the “Best International Act: Africa” in the past.
