N/R: Three-week-old baby needs GH₵10,000 for surgery

The parents of a three-week old baby are hoping to raise funds to save their little boy’s life.
Mohammed Timtoni Fuseiniare, according to doctors at the Tamale Teaching Hospital, is suffering from Meningomyelocele and Hydrocephalus [fluid in his skull], a type of Spina Bifida which is a defects in the spinal cord and needs GH₵10,000 surgery.
Spina bifida is a birth defect in which the spinal canal and the backbone don’t close before the baby is born while Hydrocephalus is a condition that occurs when fluid builds up in the skull and causes the brain to swell. In simple terms, Meningomyelocele and Hydrocephalus is water in the brain.
Speaking to Adom News, the parent of little Fuseini appealed to NGOs, philanthropists, cooperate bodies and the general public to come to their aid with donations to enable little Fuseini undergo surgery.
Meanwhile, Tacorabama Women Foundation led by Madam Felicia Tetteh, who double as the Northern Regional First Vice Chairperson of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has made a cash payment of GH₵50,000 cedis to cater for the cost of treatment.
Speaking to Adom News after the donation, Felicia Tetteh said she was moved with compassion when the condition of little Fuseini was brought to her attention.
She added that the condition of the boy is very bad, appealing to other well-to-do Ghanaians in and outside the region, NGOs or those who care to come to the aid of little Fuseini to save his life.
Adom News visit to little Fuseini in the hospital revealed that he was in critical condition, a situation doctors say can lead to his death if the surgery is not carried out within the shortest possible time.
Medical sources close to Adom News reveal that any further delays in the surgery could lead to little Fuseini losing his life.
Mohammed Timtoni Fuseini is currently on life support at the Tamale Teaching Hospital.
